American University will resume parking enforcement on campus and at university buildings on August 1, 2021. An active parking permit or daily payment will be required in all AU parking facilities between 8:00AM and 5:00PM Monday through Friday. Evenings and weekends are free.

Registering for an adjunct parking permit:​

• All adjuncts must register for a parking permit every semester.

• You must contact the Office of Parking and Commuter Services at parking@american.edu or 202-885-3111 to request a parking permit for the semester.

• Hours are Monday - Friday, 9am-5:00pm. 

• They will likely ask you for the following information: your appointment letter (if new adjunct), AU ID, and vehicle registration.

• Once this information is verified, the parking office will issue you a virtual parking permit.
